PORTFOLIO & PRIVACY / 3 min

Show your work. Choose what you share.

Create project stories and review personal information before going public.

01

Curate a small, useful collection

Choose projects that show the kind of work you want to do. Each project should explain its purpose, your role, the process and the outcome. A thoughtful explanation of one real project is more useful than a long list of unexplained titles. Label concept work and fictional exercises.

02

Check ownership and confidentiality

Before sharing client work, coursework, screenshots or source code, check whether you have permission. Remove private data, access tokens, unpublished business information and other people’s personal details. A public portfolio can be copied or indexed after you publish it.

03

Decide how people should contact you

Career Studio hides email, phone and location from portfolio exports by default. Turn on only the details you want in the file. Check the text of your profile and projects too: those sections may contain contact details you typed manually. Existing GitHub, LinkedIn and website fields are included.

04

Review the file before hosting it

Download the HTML portfolio and open it in a browser. Check spelling, mobile layout and every destination link. The file is self-contained and has no embedded tracking scripts. Downloading does not publish it; uploading it to a public host is a separate choice you make.

05

Keep a private editable backup

The HTML portfolio is a presentation of your visible information. A JSON backup contains the whole draft, including hidden sections, and can be imported back into the editor. Keep that backup private and do not upload it alongside your public portfolio.

Your next step starts with a draft.
